This yoga sequence is great first thing in the morning. It’s invigorating and will help wake you up and get your breath moving while giving you a full body workout
Place your hands shoulder distance apart and feet hip distance apart. Lengthen your spine and ease your chest towards thighs. This pose gives you a stunning stretch for the whole of the back body.
With your right ankle and knee in line, press down into your right foot and ease into your back heel. Tuck your tailbone and raise your arms above your head with palms facing in towards each other. This offers a great stretch for your hip flexors and the side of your waist. This pose encourages balance and strength.
To add the twist, bring your palms together above your head on an inhalation. On your exhalation, bring your palms down through the centre of your body. Inhale and lengthen your spine, with your collar bones facing forward. Exhale and twist to the right, hooking your elbow over your right knee. Turn your head on an inhalation. Exhale and bring your palms down through the centre of your body and twist to the right. This is great for detoxing and keeping your spine healthy.
Place your wrists in line with your shoulders to create a long line from the crown of your head to your heels. Switch on the whole front of your body. This pose tones the abs and builds determination.
From the above position, tuck your elbows into ribs, lower your shoulders down your back and lower yourself slowly down.
From low plank, scoop your chest forward and up. So that you roll over the toes so the tops of your feet are touching the floor. Squeeze your shoulder blades together and smile! This is awesome for toning your chest and shoulder areas and totally invigorating.
Repeat sequence on the other side of your body. Then flow through three circuits on each side.
